Hey, I'm Gabs!
My creative journey began with dirt and good company, sculpting beside my dad and falling in love with clay early on.
Over the years, I've built a whole parallel world out of clay: functional vessels that sprout worms, fingers, teeth, and little creatures that look back at you. Each piece is its own strange ecosystem, shaped by a love of the unusual and the belief that there's real comfort in the things that make us a little uncomfortable.
Teaching ceramics has been the best part of all of it, like pulling people into the studio to share the fun, the failures, the freaks that come out of the kiln, and the magic of shaping something with your own hands. Through this course, I want to help you trust your own weird, chase the ideas that hit like a flash of lightning, and make pieces that feel as alive and personal as the creatures I can't stop building.

First things first!!! Module 2
Basics of Ceramics
Time to get our hands dirty!!!Ā Weāll go through the tools, materials, and techniques you need to start working confidently with clay, including shaping, smoothing, joining pieces, and even what to do with all those scraps lying around.Ā These are the building blocks weāll use throughout the rest of the course.
Module 3
Specific Exercises
Weāll practice creating individual features and structural elements before putting everything together in a full sculpture.Ā Youāll work on the little details that give your creatures personality, while getting more comfortable shaping and manipulating clay along the way.
Module 4
Sculpture pt. 1
Okayyy, time to start building the actual thing!!!Ā Weāll take your idea from drawing to clay, prepare your workspace, and begin constructing your sculpture from the ground up.Ā Ā Weāll focus on building and hollowing the legs while making sure everything stays strong enough to support what comes next.
Module 5
Sculpture pt. 2
Weāll move into the torso and arms, working through shaping, attaching, refining, and adding all those final details that make the sculpture feel like YOURS.Ā By the end of this module, youāll finally see all those separate pieces become one complete creature.
Module 6
Firing & Preserving
You made the thing!!! Now we need to get it safely through the final stages.Ā Weāll cover drying, underglazing, firing, safe handling, and some glazing basics so you understand how to take your finished sculpture from wet clay to a completed ceramic piece.Ā And once youāve made it through everything, your course certificate will be waiting for you!!!
